Chillennium 2015 was held this past weekend!
The Game Jam went off without a hitch with 35 participants from Texas A&M, UNT, and Kansas State University. The participants were organized into 12 teams of 2-4 and spent 48 hours making some awesome games with the theme “GLITCH”.
Along with free breakfast, lunch, and dinner each day of the event, jammers were treated with mentors from industry who graciously donated their time to walking the floor and helping with the games. At the end of the event the games were judged and winners received an awesome hand-painted trophy along with prizes such as vouchers for the Steam Shop and XBox Arcade, video games like Borderlands 2 and Borderlands the Pre-Sequel, the Art of Dreamworks book, swag from Gearbox studios, and professional software license for Unity and Houdini!
On the part of the organizing committee, things were hectic all the way up to locking the doors Sunday night, but we were happy that everything came together in the end. The documentation team was able to make some amazing videos using footage of the event, and the local news stations came out to pay their respects as well:
We will start the planning for the next game jam soon, so keep an eye out for word of next year’s Chillennium Game Jam!
